10 Low-Cost Ways to Improve Your Home’s Value-Learn Them All

1. Freshen Up. If it’s been a while since you last painted, splash a neutral color on all interior walls. Rehang only half the number of pictures you had before and put the rest in storage.
2. Lighten Up. Replace your light bulbs with the brightest wattage that each lamp and fixture can accommodate.
3. Rub and Scrub. Polish doorknobs, faucets and showerheads. Scour all countertops, scrub grout and remove excess knickknacks.
4. Spot Check. Clean spots on carpets and area rugs. If the spots are stubborn, remove the rug or cover it with furniture or a small area rug.
5. Right Face. Hang all your clothes in the closet facing the same way and sort by type (e.g. blouses, pants, jackets). Remove as many things as possible from the closet floor.
